Kellen Drake
Wenatchee High School and Wenatchee Athletics are pleased to announce the hiring of Kellen Drake as the new Head Boys Basketball Coach. Drake brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success to the program.
A proud 2008 graduate of Eastmont High School and a three-sport athlete, Drake was inducted into the Eastmont Athletic Hall of Fame in 2021. He played basketball for two years at Wenatchee Valley College before earning degrees from Washington State University and Whitworth University. Drake began his coaching career at Ritzville High School and has spent the past seven years as the Head Boys Basketball Coach at Entiat High School, also serving as Athletic Director this past year. During his tenure at Entiat, his teams consistently qualified for the playoffs, and in 2023, he was named Coach of the Year for his league.
"We are thrilled to welcome Kellen Drake to Wenatchee High School," said Athletic Director Eric Anderson. "His extensive experience as a head coach and student-athlete, coupled with his deep roots in the local basketball community, make him an ideal fit for our program. We are confident in his ability to build a successful and character-driven basketball program."
Drake has also been deeply involved with the Washington Interscholastic Basketball Coaches Association (WIBCA) for the past five years, currently serving as the Director of Membership. This year, he received the prestigious John Wooden Legacy Award, recognizing his outstanding service and impact in Washington high school basketball.
